KADAMAIAN, 31 July 2025 — The Pineapple-Based Food Production Course organised by the Sabah Women's Affairs Department (JHEWA) successfully empowered its target groups in the state. The three-day course, held from 29 to 31 July 2025 in N.11 Kadamaian, attracted 34 women and local entrepreneurs.
Running daily from 8 am to 5 pm, the programme provided practical training and in-depth knowledge on producing quality pineapple-based food products that can compete in the market. Participants learned processing and marketing techniques and explored innovations in healthy, appealing pineapple-based products.
JHEWA Sabah said in a statement: 'This programme is a strategic step to help women and local entrepreneurs increase their income through pineapple-based products. JHEWA believes this training will enable participants to develop their potential and expand their markets.'
Alongside theory sessions, participants received practical training led by local food industry experts. They had opportunities to create products including pineapple jam, pineapple crisps and innovative pineapple-based drinks.
The programme received an encouraging response and is expected to benefit the local community's economy. Following its success, JHEWA Sabah plans to organise more similar training to empower women and entrepreneurs throughout the state.
